from their hiding place that the girl should start,
lure the MAndarin a little closer, ensnare him.
06. At last she overcomes her reluctance = 03:16
and begins a hesitant danxe.
07. A tempo (meno mosso) = 01:02
08. The girl sinks to embrace him; = 02:07
he begins to tremble in feverish excitement.
09. The tramps leap out, seize the Mandarin = 01:47
and tear him away from the girl. They strip
him of his jewelry and his money.
10. Suddenly the Mandarin's head appears between = 02:24
the pillow and he looks longingly at the girl.
The four shudder and stand aghast.
11. Suddenly he draws himself up and leaps at the girl. = 00:48
The three tramps stop him and hold him fast again.
12. They drag the resisting Mandarin to the centre = 01:06
of the room and hang him on the lamp hook.
13. The body of the Mandarin begins to glow with a greenish = 02:58
blue light. His eyes are fixed on the girl.
14.The Mandarin's longing is now stilled, his wounds begin = 01:00
to bleed, he becomes weaker and dies after a short struggle.
